The Ram Report - 9/7 - 9/11

I hope everyone had a wonderful three-day weekend and enjoyed some well-deserved rest and quality time together. It was an extra exciting week on campus prior to the break, highlighted by CBS visiting to film an episode of America ByDESIGN. Our students did an absolute amazing job representing GMMS! Their focus and leadership were on full display throughout the entire production, and we couldn't be prouder of how brilliantly they showcased our school community.

As we jump into a busy fall sports schedule, we have a few important updates and reminders regarding athletic events. Due to recent incidents, no outside food or drinks will be allowed in the gym during home games. Small concessions will be available for student purchase, but all outside refreshments must be left at home. Please talk with your middle schoolers about what it means to be a proud GMMS Ram in the stands. We need their active help in leaving our gym clean and taken care of after every event. Above all, we expect exemplary sportsmanship at all times, cheering loudly for our teams, showing utmost respect to visiting athletes and officials, and remembering that their conduct reflects on our entire school family. We look forward to seeing that Ram pride in action as our football season officially kicks off this Wednesday, September 9th, with our very first game!

Beyond athletics, we remain deeply invested in nurturing the whole child through our daily Connect time using the Character Strong curriculum. These dedicated sessions give our staff the opportunity to dive into meaningful conversations about mental well-being, healthy decision-making, and interpersonal communication. Our ultimate goal is to help each student build the emotional resilience and social awareness necessary to mature into capable, compassionate, and self-aware individuals. To maintain a safe and welcoming campus where every child can thrive, please reinforce with your student that we hold a strict zero-tolerance policy for fighting and the mistreatment of others. Bullying, physical conflict, and unkindness stand directly opposite to our values. Please take a moment to review our Student Handbook with your child, so we can work together to ensure high expectations are met both inside and outside the classroom.  We appreciate your active partnership at home in reinforcing these high expectations!
